Bridal Styling

with Bridal Editor

We invited the amazing Sarah, founder of Bridal Editor, to cometo talk to us. Here are a few of her top tips for your bridal style!

Find something you love!

For some brides there can be a lot of pressure surrounding their wedding day look - wondering what your family and friends will think of your dress, how you should wear your hair, whether that gorgeous accessory you’ve seen will be ‘too much’...Sarah’s tip is to make sure whatever you choose feels like you. On your wedding day your bridal style should be the most fabulous, feel-good version of you!

This means different things for different people; for some, a traditional ivory gown with a classy pin-up might be their dream wedding day chic, whilst for others going off-piste with colours and styles could suit them much better. Find your bridal styling lane, and stick with it!

Visiting bridal boutiques

Sarah recommends that when you first visit a bridal boutique to try dresses, you should consider trying one of every style. Even if you have an idea of your style preferences, you never know what will suit you and what you may unexpectedly fall in love with when you start wearing different dresses!

The owners and staff at bridal styling boutiques are experts - if you find a style you like but the dress itself isn’t ticking all the boxes, they’ll be able to help you narrow down the elements you love and find you the dream outfit for your day.

Do your research

Before you rush off to every bridal boutique in your area to start trying dresses on, Sarah recommends doing some research online. If you can find your favourite designers and get to know their styles, you’ll be able to pinpoint exactly which shops to visit. Often, stockists are listed on the designers’ websites - and vice versa! This will help you find the right places to book in.

Day before & day after
Another of Sarah’s bridal styling tips is to think about outfits other than your wedding day dress (or suit, or jumpsuit…!). Especially if you’re holding your wedding over multiple days, having a specially chosen outfit for the day before and after can help prolong the celebrations and make you feel truly special for even longer. We all know the power of a new pair of shoes to make us walk with a little more sass, after all!

Even if your wedding isn’t spanning multiple days, you could consider an outfit change in the evening into the most fabulous party dress you’ll ever wear!
