Tablescapes at Home

Repurpose your Wedding Gift List!

Like many just-married or nearly-married couples, you likely have a wonderful stash of items from your wedding gift list that deserve to be used! Easter is just around the corner, so why not take this chance to let your special tableware shine? With an increase in families hosting at home in recent times, we’re here with some inspiration from shoots our founder Ashleigh has styled, to help you make the most of your wedding gift list items by turning them into elegant Easter table settings!

Your Wedding Gift List Items

Start by setting out the wedding gift list items you want to showcase and style. You might have crockery, cutlery, glassware and all sorts of other tablescaping elements such as serving dishes, candles, vases and jars. If they are brightly or boldly coloured, use this as your basis for your colour palette - if not, you’re perfectly placed to create Easter place settings in whatever scheme you like. We recommend colours in the more delicate and pastel spectrum, as these work really well for this time of year. Items shown here are from The Wedding Shop, wedding gift list specialists.

Sweet Treats

Just because you’re using your special wedding gift list tableware for your Easter table place settings, doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with the classic Easter treats you know and love! Play around with chocolate eggs in different sizes, and even consider repurposing large ones as dishes. Arrange hot cross buns on side plates, hard boil eggs and pop them into decorative egg cups…and why not pop a bottle of fancy fizz!? Try combining chic and stylish items such as champagne bottles and tall candles with playful items such as mini eggs and fun patterns - this elevates your wedding gift list items and your home hosting from DIY to ‘tablescaped’!

Finishing Touches

One way to make your wedding gift list items feel special on your Easter tablescape is to really level up your ‘hosting at home’ game. You can do this by adding finishing touches such as specially designed place name tags and floral decorations as Easter centrepieces - additions such as these make your dining table decor look so much more put together.

Tablescaping for Two

If you’re a duo rather than a big family and you still want to use your wedding gift list items for a special celebration (for Easter, or just because!) we’ve got you covered. With inspiration taken from a shoot Bungalow founder Ashleigh recently styled for Prezola, the wedding gift list pros, and a longed-for Parisian morning, these images show what you can do on a smaller scale.

Create a tablescape for two at home and set out crockery, serveware and glasses using different heights, shapes and sizes for a visually appealing style. Again, grab your favourite sweet treats and create an Easter breakfast table with croissants, strawberries, macarons and some coffee and bubbles to chase it down.
