A Modern Ballroom in London

Our first wedding of the year was also our quickest planned - all in 3 months! Our clients originally wanted to get married abroad, but realised with travel it was going to be increasingly difficult so settled on the beautiful Kimpton Fitzroy in London.

One of the huge perks of a hotel wedding is having all your guests staying at your venue, and being able to get ready on site really means there is far less logistics to organise for not only your guests but also your belongings (no one ever remembers how their stuff will get from bridal suite to honeymoon suite!)

Kimpton Fitzroy is a beautiful hotel in Russell Square, and so unique to London in that the ballroom is perfectly sized for a wedding. Often ballrooms are large open spaces and even when filled with 150 people, it still feels like there’s room to fill. We often talk about utilising space with our clients, and one of the issues with an extra large space is it can be really difficult to get your crowd going on the dancefloor if they feel too ‘exposed’.

Ballrooms in London can often feel they are aiming at two opposing audiences - corporate and weddings (and that’s because they are). Our favourite elements about the ballroom at Kimpton Fitzroy are the interiors, relatively neutral and not a corporate element in sight (no projectors on show here!)

Our clients got married at a Synagogue in Bayswater with family connections, and then transported all their guests over to the Kimpton Fitzroy on London buses. They were greeted with a champagne reception in Palm Court which is another beautiful space in the hotel. Once guests moved through to the ballroom, the bride & groom were announced & Israeli dancing started!
