Welcome back to The Latest - today’s blog is especially stylish, a beautiful wedding we planned in Tuscany. We love planning weddings in Italy, there’s so much character in each venue we visit!

With dresses from Galia Lahav and Vivienne Westwood, Prada and Mach&Mach accessories and suppliers flying in from all over Europe - this was a wedding with design aesthetic at the very heart of it.

The Venue

Villa Lena is a beautiful villa in the Tuscan hills, an hour from Florence. With plenty of accommodation on site and incredible food (most grown on their own land) it’s a great option for a 3 day hire to catch up with guests and create a really relaxing atmosphere around your wedding.

Ceremony

On our site visit in January, we decided to relocate the ceremony to the front of Villa Lena to get the most incredible backdrop.

With a fountain in the courtyard in front of the villa, we split the guest chairs to each side of the fountain to allow guests to have a great view. What we didn’t account for was 35c in early June! Fortunately the front of the villa was in the shade by 4:30pm when the ceremony started, and guests had white parasols and fans on their chairs to keep them cool.

Reception

After the ceremony, guests gathered at the back of the Villa for the Aperitivo - followed by dinner a few minutes walk away on the Panoramic Terrace with an incredible view of the Tuscan hills.

The couple created their menu with the head chef Marco, based on their favourite meals from their favourite restaurants. The bar menu also included their favourite cocktails!

For the evening, guests moved up to the pool terrace where the DJ set up. With the first dance on terrace next to the pool, it was only a matter of time before guests jumped in the pool and stayed up til 5am to watch the sunrise!
